Averill did do several black dolls, but I have no reference to a sister for Snookums.

You might try getting a peek at more of their dolls at a bookstore that carries Ursela Mertz's composition doll books Volume I & II, as they show quite a few dolls by this company. Even better, buy the book, they are both fabulous references.

1920's Grace Drayton created Chocolate Drop, a black girl doll with yarn pigtails, unsure of the body type, but probably a cloth stuffed one with a composition head, which would have had the Drayton marking on it. This doll was also done in all cloth.

They also made Topsy dolls that would be black.
