Hello. I love the doll referance site and have enjoyed it for several years. It has been of great help to me, now I need some help.
I collect bisque dolls, old ones, no reproductions. Mom collected mainly composition dolls, and though I do know some about her dolls, when it comes to values I am at a loss. My mom's collection is large.
Saddly, my mother suddenly passed away this past February. My step father knows nothing about her dolls, he considerd having an auction, but I was able to talk him out of it. I told him that we do not know the value of these dolls, and there is no one who lives in our area who could give us an accurate idea of value. I, personally, would love to have my mothers dolls, but my step father would never let me have them.
I do not have photos of the dolls at this time, but I am posting about one doll I have had no luck in finding information about.
The doll is a Madame Alexander Snow White, she is all original and at one time when I questioned my mom about the doll she told me that the doll is blonde because originally, when the story of Snow White came out, she was blonde, and her doll is one of the first made, and that is why she has blonde hair and not black hair. The doll is in great condition and is all composition. Her dress is marked.
Has anyone seen a M. Alexander blonde Snow White? Does anyone know the aprox. value of the doll?
As I said earlier, I will get photos of the dolls in her collection, but it will take a little time for me to get these photos.
Thanks so much in advance, as I will have plenty of questions about some other dolls as soon as I can post pictures of them.
Kay
P.S. I believe the dress Snow White is wearing is red. I will find out if my memory is correct later when I can get out to the house.
